DocMind - AI Study Helper ("DocMind", "we", "us", or "our") is an Android application developed by Martal Forge. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your choices regarding your data.

By using DocMind, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive your display name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. This information is used to create and manage your DocMind account and is stored securely in our database.

b) Documents and Content You Upload

You may upload documents (such as PDFs and images) to use our AI-powered study tools. These documents are sent to AI processing services solely to generate study materials (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, etc.). Uploaded documents are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our AI servers after processing is complete.

c) Study and Usage Data

We collect data related to your use of the app, including:

Study streaks, quiz scores, mock exam results, and badge progress
Coin balance, daily bonus claims, and ad watch counts
Leaderboard rankings and weekly performance data
Feature usage patterns to improve the app experience

d) Purchase Information

All in-app purchases (coin packs and subscriptions) are processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We receive a purchase token from Google to verify and activate your purchase. We do not collect, process, or store any payment method details such as credit card or bank account numbers.

e) Device Information

We may collect basic device information such as device model, operating system version, and app version for the purpose of troubleshooting, analytics, and ensuring compatibility.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve our AI-powered study tools and features
To create and manage your user account
To process and verify in-app purchases through Google Play
To track and display your study progress, streaks, leaderboard rankings, and badges
To serve advertisements to users on the free plan via Google AdMob
To provide the ad-based trial feature (watch ads to unlock temporary Pro access)
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms
To comply with legal obligations

3. Third-Party Services

DocMind integrates the following third-party services. Each is governed by its own privacy policy:

Google Firebase — Used for authentication (Google Sign-In), cloud database (Firestore), cloud functions, remote configuration, and app security (App Check). Firebase Privacy Policy
Google AdMob — Used to display banner and rewarded video advertisements to users on the free plan. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. Google Privacy Policy
Google Play Billing — Used to process all in-app purchases (coin packs and subscriptions) securely. Google Payments Privacy Notice
AI Language Model Providers — Document content is sent to third-party AI language model APIs to generate study materials. These providers process content in real time for the sole purpose of generating responses and do not retain user content after processing.

4. Advertising

Users on the free plan may see advertisements served by Google AdMob, including rewarded video ads that grant in-app coins or temporary plan access. AdMob may use advertising identifiers and device data to personalize ads.

Users subscribed to the Pro or Premium plan do not see any advertisements.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your Android device settings under Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we obtain consent for personalized advertising through a consent management platform (Google's User Messaging Platform) before displaying personalized ads.

5. In-App Purchases

DocMind offers the following purchasable items:

Coin Packs — One-time consumable purchases (100, 550, or 1,300 coins) used to access individual study tools on a per-use basis.
Pro Subscription — Available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Provides unlimited uploads, unlimited light tools, increased daily limits for heavy tools, and 5 mock exams per month.
Premium Subscription — Available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Provides unlimited access to all tools, unlimited mock exams, Study Podcast, and a completely ad-free experience.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscriptions at any time through the Google Play Store app under Menu > Subscriptions.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your account information, study progress, and preferences are stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols. We use Firebase App Check to protect our backend services from unauthorized access and abuse.

While we implement commercially reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

7. Data Retention

Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account remains active and you continue to use the app.
Account deletion: If you choose to delete your account (available in the app's Profile section), your personal data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days of the request.
Aggregated data: Anonymized, aggregated data (such as overall leaderboard statistics) may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be used to identify you.

8. Children's Privacy

DocMind is an educational application designed for students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 beyond what is provided through Google Sign-In (name, email, and profile picture), which is necessary to create an account and provide the service.

We do not target advertising to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information beyond what is described above, please contact us at the email address below, and we will take steps to remove that information promptly.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us.
Correction: You can update your profile name within the app at any time.
Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from the Profile section within the app, or by contacting us directly.
Ad Preferences: You can manage personalized advertising through your Android device's ad settings.
Subscription Management: You can view, change, or cancel your subscriptions through the Google Play Store.
Data Portability: You may request an export of your data by contacting us.

10. International Users

DocMind is operated by Martal Forge from Pakistan. If you access the app from outside Pakistan, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries where our servers or third-party service providers are located. By using the app, you consent to such transfers.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
